Perchfest Is Going Green For Shrek
Capital One Center's biannual festival – Perchfest – which will be held September 20th and 21st at The Perch. Perchfest will feature mini golf in the clouds, local music, craft beer from Starr Hill Biergarten, fitness classes, Celebrate Fairfax’s curated community vendors — and this time with a Shrektastic twist!
This weekend kicks off Broadway in Tysons Season Four at Capital One Hall with five performances of Shrek the Musical September 20th - 22nd. Perchfest will serve as the perfect pre/post event for Friday and Saturday Broadway patrons with Shrek-themed activities and instagrammable moments throughout The Perch.
Notable events of the weekend include:
Turn The Campus Green: On Friday, September 20 at 7:15PM, join us on The Perch's Great Lawn to officially flip the switch with us and turn the lights of the campus green! We will be joined by members of the cast and community as we illuminate landmarks of Capital One Center ahead of Shrek The Musical's opening night performance.
Green Cupcake Eating Contest: Crowds will gather at 2PM on Saturday, September 21 for Wegmans' green cupcake eating contest! This will also be held on The Perch's Great Lawn and is free to participate in.
Keep an eye out for characters from the show roaming around!
Additionally, Shrek themed carnival games will be available throughout the 2-day festival and you will be able to purchase fee-free tickets to all upcoming shows at Capital One Hall.
Tickets are free via registration through Eventbrite and there is a suggested donation to Miriam’s Kitchen.
The Perch is located on the roof of Capital One Hall. To access it, locate "The Perch" labeled elevators on either Capital One Drive North or South and take the elevator up to the 11th floor.
