History focuses on the past, yet profoundly influences the present. Legendary figures like Mulan evolve into symbols of resilience, determination, and courage. Her enduring story highlights the importance of staying true to one’s convictions and responsibilities in the face of adversity.
The dance drama, “Mulan: A Legend Reimagined,” is a modern retelling of a classic Chinese folktale that originated from the “Ballad of Mulan,” a poem written around 400 AD. Over the centuries, her story has appeared in various plays, operas, novels, and movies. Our family-friendly production features restaged award-winning choreography performed by the students of Xuejuan Dance Ensemble (xjdance.org) and O-mei Wushu Kung Fu Center (omei-wushu.com). Follow along with Mulan on her journey as you deepen your understanding of the values she represents.
The runtime for this event is expected to last approximately 90 minutes and includes a 10-minute intermission.
